The campaign, featuring Team Ireland athletes Sarah Lavin, Fintan McCarthy, Daniel Wiffen and Jordan Lee, portrays the human behind the athlete on their path to the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Paris 2024
Following on from the launch of the Bank’s Team Ireland TV Ad Campaign in February, comes the latest campaign from PTSB, profiling the title sponsorship of both the Irish Olympic and Irish Paralympic teams and delving deeper into what it means to support the human behind the athlete.
The video content series features four of PTSB’s Olympic and Paralympic Athlete Ambassadors, as they open up and let the viewer see the more human side of their journey towards competing on the world stage this summer in Paris. From incredible family support to overcoming outside adversity, the campaign offers an intimate look at what helps these athletes achieve extraordinary results.
The series kicks off with Limerick’s 100m hurdle Irish record holder and Tokyo Olympian, Sarah Lavin. For Sarah, each race lasts a matter of seconds. Through her storytelling, she highlights the importance of surrounding yourself with people who know you best and who really care about you, as well as the shared dreams and sacrifices made by those around her, that help to make her journey truly extraordinary.
Additional content drops feature Cork’s Olympic Champion Rower Fintan McCarthy, World Champion Swimmer Daniel Wiffen from County Down and Kerry High Jumper Jordan Lee, who are among eleven PTSB ambassadors striving to represent Team Ireland at the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
The campaign is based on the insight that most of us look upon our athletes as if they were superhuman, with their only role to go out and represent Ireland. As title sponsor of both the Irish Olympic and Irish Paralympic teams, PTSB’s understanding of what these athletes go through runs deeper. Behind every athlete, there’s a human who started it all, who gets up every morning and faces every challenge head on, even when it feels like the odds are against them.
Commenting on the video series, Ger Mitchell, CHRO & Corporate Development Director at PTSB, said: “As we move closer to the Games, we are stepping up activity to further demonstrate PTSB’s support of Team Ireland and the very human side of these extraordinary athletes. Our Olympic and Paralympic heroes will be doing the country proud in Paris this summer and this video series highlights the drive, focus and commitment that goes into representing Ireland on the World stage.
“At PTSB, we never underestimate what it takes. Living our promise of being Altogether More Human, we support the human behind the athlete, just as we support our customers every day.”
