All welcome track side to support as teams battle it out around Canary Wharf street circuit
Royal Bank of Canada V Series is set to return to Canary Wharf in London on Thursday, 15 September. This annual team cycling race, now in its second year, will once again bring the atmosphere and tension of the velodrome to Canary Wharf.
For those missing out on the Olympics and success of our track cyclists, the event is free to spectators and gets underway at 18.30. Bringing together twenty corporate teams of dedicated amateurs, whose riders are swapping their business suits for lycra, the event will pitch teams against each other and the clock on a 1km closed-road circuit.
The event is an Italian pursuit for eight riders over four kilometres. The lead rider peels off every 500m, leaving the final four riders to race the final 2km. Two teams will compete head-to-head, with the fastest four teams qualifying through to the finals. The event is designed to test the technical, tactical and physical demands of each team. The winning team will bring all of these elements together to create the ultimate team performance.
The Royal Bank of Canada V Series will again bring the best of preparation and competition from the world of professional cycling to the corporate environment. Strategy and teamwork are everything as those competing draw on three months of extensive training and independent support.
