Science in Sport (SiS) the leaders in sports nutrition, has become the latest major brand to join the new and exciting corporate team cycling challenge, Royal Bank of Canada V Series. Based on the Italian Team Pursuit format, teams made up of eight riders will compete against the clock on a 1km closed-road circuit in the heart of Canary Wharf in London. Those taking part will have the opportunity to network with other companies, as well as strengthen relationships within their own team made up of colleagues, clients and trade partners. The event is organised and owned by leading global mass participation sport engagement agency, Limelight Sports.
SiS, who will be the event’s Official Sports Nutrition Supplier, has led the way since 1992, working with some of the best athletes and teams in the world. SiS will provide sports nutrition, advice and support for participants on the event. SiS joins an impressive list of major brands involved in the Royal Bank of Canada V Series, which includes one of the leading multinational mass media and information groups, Thomson Reuters whose offices overlook the venue for the finals in Canary Wharf.
Commenting on the new agreement, Stephen Moon, CEO at SiS said: “SiS is the brand that has been fuelling professional athletes for well over twenty years and we’re really pleased to be able to provide the same products, expertise and nutritional know-how to the participants of the V Series. Our attention to detail in nutrition will no doubt help participants get the very most out of their event and team experience.”
Performance coaches led by Royal Bank of Canada V Series Performance Advisor Shane Sutton OBE, Technical Director at British Cycling, provide riders with strategic help and advice on building a competitive squad and expert advice leading up to the event day. A mixture of videos, seminars, articles and the training day is used to help teams understand the technical, tactical and physical demands of the Italian Team Pursuit and how to bring all of these elements together to deliver the ultimate team performance.
The inaugural Royal Bank of Canada V Series will take place in Canary Wharf on 14th May 2015, with other major cities being added to the series in the coming years. A full training day for competing teams will be held on 18th April at the Lee Valley VeloPark in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the venue where Team GB enjoyed such great success at the London 2012 Summer Olympics.
