Key European gambling and gaming associations work together with ESA to draw up guidelines for European sponsorship activity.
The European Sponsorship Association (ESA) has worked closely with the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), the Remote Gambling Association (RGA) and K&L Gates LLP in order to produce and publish a set of guidelines that cover sponsorship and official supplier arrangements for companies involved in offline or online gambling services.
The guidelines are available free for download from the ESA resource library, and can be found here.
Andrew Danson, lawyer at K&L Gates LLP and one of the paper’s lead authors, commented “This paper is important because of the ways in which laws and regulations relating to the advertising and sponsorship of gambling services vary significantly across Europe. ESA felt that some guidance to consolidate common regulatory principles was needed and so this paper was created.”
William Fenton, ESA Board Director, added “ESA is extremely thankful for the input that both the EGBA and the RGA have had into the creation of this guidance document, and to Andrew and co-author Helen Day for pulling the information together and presenting it in an easily digestible format that will, I’m sure, prove to be of use to many ESA, EGBA and RGA members, both now and in the future.”
