The European Tour and Aggreko plc, the global leader in the rental of power and temperature control, are delighted to announce a new long term partnership until 2023.
Aggreko has become the European Tour’s temporary power and climate control supplier, servicing multiple men’s professional golf tournaments across the world, including four premium Rolex Series events per year and The 2018 and 2022 Ryder Cups.
Aggreko will supply temporary power generation, distribution and temperature control equipment – as well as related design and project management services – at a minimum of 12 tournaments per year between 2017 and 2023 across the European Tour, European Challenge Tour and European Senior Tour.
In 2017, the European Tour International Schedule features a minimum of 47 tournaments in 26 countries, including eight Rolex Series events, all part of the Race to Dubai, the year-long competition which crowns the European Tour Number One at the end of the season.
The European Tour also manages the Challenge Tour, and Senior Tour and is the Managing Partner of Ryder Cup Europe, the body which, alongside the PGA of America, administers golf’s greatest team contest, The Ryder Cup.
Commencing in 2017, the Rolex Series is the premium tournament category on the European Tour’s International Schedule, presently comprising eight tournaments around the world with a minimum prize fund of US$7 million.
Nathan Homer, Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer of the European Tour, said: “This new partnership with Aggreko will help to reduce the complexities in our ever-growing and developing business, as we press forward with our plans to innovate, grow the game, and build on important initiatives like the premium Rolex Series.
“With multiple locations over 30 countries, Aggreko is a trusted and ambitious company that matches the European Tour’s global outlook, and we look forward to working together over the next six years to the benefit of both companies.”
Robert Wells, Managing Director of Aggreko Event Services, said: “We are hugely enthusiastic to begin a long term partnership with the European tour at this exciting time in their history.
“With the European Tour launching the Rolex Series and many more ambitious plans for the future, we are looking forward to delivering the highest level of service and innovation as their temporary power and climate control supplier. This marks a significant milestone in Aggreko’s relationship with the European Tour and with such a commitment we are delighted to be a part of this prestigious Tour’s plans for the future.”
Aggreko will provide services at four Rolex Series events per year – the BMW PGA Championship, HNA Open de France, Dubai Duty Free Irish Open Hosted by the Rory Foundation and the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open – plus the Portugal Masters, British Masters supported by Sky Sports and the Andalucia Valderrama Masters hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation.
The agreement also includes one Challenge Tour and three Senior Tour events per year, and the next two home Ryder Cup tournaments, at Le Golf National in France in 2018 and Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Italy in 2022.
