Volopa, a Foreign Exchange Solutions and international payment provider, has joined forces with the European Challenge Tour as the title sponsor for the recently-announced Irish Challenge hosted by Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort.
The Republic of Ireland’s first Challenge Tour event in six years, which takes place at the stunning County Carlow venue from October 8-11, will now be named the Volopa Irish Challenge hosted by Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort.
The London-based company will also become an Official Partner to Europe’s top developmental tour, offering a foreign currency exchange service tailored specifically for the players of the Challenge Tour as they traverse the globe en route to golfing stardom.
Volopa provides money exchange solutions for regular travellers and offers some of the most competitive rates in the market, making it the perfect fit for the pioneering Challenge Tour – which has broken ground by bringing the game of golf to new countries in all corners of the world, from the Czech Republic through to Kazakhstan, Oman and beyond.
The recently launched Volopa Travel Card allows players to seamlessly move between 14 different currencies on the one card. The branded European Challenge Tour card is available for all players, and incentives will be available for card holders who attend the Irish Challenge in October.
Alain de Soultrait, European Challenge Tour Director, said: “As an up and coming company with high ambitions for the future, Volopa is perfectly suited to join forces with the Challenge Tour by becoming an Official Partner.
“We are delighted to welcome them to our family and we must thank them for the vision and foresight they have shown to support our tour and specifically the Volopa Irish Challenge hosted by Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort.
“We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship which will yield many rewards for our players as well as helping Volopa grow their brand in new markets and territories.”

THE EUROPEAN TOUR – CELEBRATING GOLF. WORLDWIDE.
About The European Challenge Tour
The European Challenge Tour is ‘Where Heroes Are Made’. Since its inception in 1987, it has developed into a proven training ground, where the champions-in-waiting battle worldwide to make it to the Challenge Tour’s end-of-season Grand Final and gain a potentially life-changing card for The European Tour.
Many players have progressed from the Challenge Tour and gone on to become Major Champions – including Justin Rose, Martin Kaymer and Louis Oosthuizen – and Ryder Cup stars, such as Jamie Donaldson, Ian Poulter and Henrik Stenson.
Today, the European Challenge Tour carries a total prize fund in the region of 6 million Euro during a season encompassing 25 tournaments and visiting 20 countries.
Using its vast international schedule and relationships with golf federations and PGAs, it is widely accessible to professionals from across the globe, giving players from developing golfing nations the opportunity to test their skill amongst some of the most talented up and coming stars in world golf.
The competition is fierce, testing players’ ability and character to the limit. A times, it can be a stern examination, but those who do make the grade know that the chance of fame and fortune awaits.
