National Parks Partnerships (NPP) creates purpose-led partnerships between the UK’s 15 iconic National Parks and leading brands to enable large scale projects that benefit nature, local communities and the climate.
We are seeking a Development Manager to identify, secure and manage corporate partners and funders working closely with the Head of Development and Development Director. The role also works with the UK National Parks Foundation, multiple teams across the National Parks family and with the Senior Partnerships Communications Manager.
In the 75th year of the UK’s National Parks and with recently-launched national campaigns underway, you will be joining a small but entrepreneurial team that works with leading brands currently including BMW UK, Santander UK, Estée Lauder Companies UK & Ireland and Howdens.
Your responsibilities will include:
New business:
• To play a key role in NPP’s new business process, from identifying prospects through to securing meetings; relationship building; responding to prospect needs/briefs; pitching and supporting the closing of deals.
• To support the meeting of income/value-in-kind targets in line with Business Plans
• To use CRM/data systems to track and support the new business pipeline
• To support the development and preparation of compelling proposals, pitches and new partnership ‘products’
• To be cognisant of ethical issues and to undertake high quality due diligence on new partners
Partnership management:
• To work closely with the Head of Development on managing selected funder partnerships
• To support the team to deliver the highest quality account management of existing and new partners – includes activities such as regular partner meetings; ensuring partnership benefits are delivered; monitoring and reporting to partners
• Devising and leading on corporate volunteering and retail opportunities across partnerships
• Liaising across National Parks to ensure that they are engaged with and support your allocated accounts.
Essential skills and experience:
• Minimum 3 years of Corporate Development/Partnership experience ideally in a non-profit setting
• Demonstrable experience of playing a role in new business (prospecting) including research; use of database to manage pipeline; supporting proposal development and supporting or leading pitches
• Demonstrable record of playing a role in account management/handling of six-figure value partnerships
• Creative thinker able to demonstrate ability to support the development of new products, partnerships or propositions
• Confident communicator with experience of in-person pitching
• Experience in or knowledge of nature-based solutions; net-zero strategies; sustainability or private investment into nature or an enthusi
