The European Sponsorship Association is thrilled to reveal the judging panels for the 2021 ESA Awards, the most prestigious sponsorship prizes in Europe.
The panels are a who’s-who of the European sponsorship industry, featuring thought leaders and sponsorship experts from major rights holders, sponsors, agencies and industry suppliers.
After our highest-ever number of applications, a record number of judges will adjudicate the 16 categories that make up the main ESA Awards. This panel is supplemented by the ESA Best of Europe judges, tasked with identifying the best sponsorship campaigns submitted from the awards ceremonies of each national association.
The 2021 ESA Awards judging panels are drawn from 14 countries, with companies represented on the judging panel including AEG, AIB, CSM Sport & Entertainment, DHL, English National Ballet, The FA, Hilton, IMG, Kia Motors, Liverpool FC, Lucozade, NFL, O2, Real Madrid, UEFA and WWE.
The calibre, independence and seniority of the ESA Awards judging panel is a key reason for the ongoing success of the ESA Awards, which is renowned for its robust judging process.
With COVID-19 causing widespread disruption to the sports and entertainment sectors in recent months, the 2021 ESA Awards will adopt a new, simplified ‘elevator pitch’ presentation format for award submissions, as well as a virtual judging panel and discounted entry fees.
Award categories have also been streamlined, with the 16 categories covering all corners of the sponsorship landscape – from insights and PR, to talent, employee engagement, arts and culture and much more.
For the first time in 2021, ESA will award a ‘Best Ethical Response to COVID-19’ prize. This free-to-enter category will showcase the best of the sponsorship community during the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating how the industry has made a positive impact and contributed towards the common good.
