The European Sponsorship Association is thrilled to reveal the judging panels for the 2022 ESA Awards, the most prestigious sponsorship prizes in Europe.
The panels are a who’s-who of the European sponsorship industry, featuring thought leaders and sponsorship experts from major rights holders, sponsors, agencies and industry suppliers.
There are 18 categories to be judged in the main ESA Awards and this panel is supplemented by our ESA Best of Europe sponsored by Sponsorium judges, tasked with identifying the best sponsorship campaigns submitted from each national association’s awards ceremony.

The 2022 ESA Awards judging panels are drawn from 19 different countries, with companies represented including AEG, AIB, bp, Canon, CSM Sport & Entertainment, Energia, English National Ballet, FedEx, Kantar, Leicester Tigers, Liverpool FC, M&C Saatchi Sport and Entertainment, Manchester United, Neste, NTT Data, Real Madrid, Special Olympics, Tag Heuer, The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Toyota.
The calibre, independence and seniority of the ESA Awards judging panel is a key reason for the ongoing success of the ESA Awards, which is renowned for its robust judging process.
One new category has been included for 2022: Event of the Year sponsored by Dataflow Events, the Agency of the Year categories have returned and caytoo is sponsoring Rights Holder of the Year. The 18 main ESA Awards categories cover all corners of the European sponsorship landscape, from insights and PR, to talent, employee engagement, arts and culture and much more.
The 2021 ESA Awards category ‘Best Ethical Response to COVID-19’ will also be available in 2022. This free-to-enter category showcases the best of the sponsorship community during the pandemic, demonstrating how the industry has made a positive impact and contributed towards the common good.
