The ESA Arts Sponsorship Certificate has been warmly received by the arts & culture sectors, and today sees the launch of our third annual course.
The European Sponsorship Association (ESA), the membership body that raises standards within the sponsorship profession, in partnership with social enterprise and certified B-corporation Cause4, via their Arts Council England funded Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy Programme, today launches enrolment for the ESA Arts Sponsorship Certificate. This is the third year of the successful and warmly received training initiative which officially starts on Friday 15th September 2017.
The web-based distance learning qualification is a cost-effective course targeted towards those who wish to raise funds from commercial companies. The course covers topics such as how sponsorship works, why the arts provides many opportunities for private sector funding and how to approach potential commercial corporate partners successfully, as well as offering many other insights.
Peter Raymond, Course Director, said: “I am delighted that the ESA Arts Sponsorship Certificate is fast becoming an essential qualification for those in the arts and culture sector who aspire to make sponsorship an essential part of their fundraising and marketing programmes. It is clear that the skills gained from this course equip organisations with the ability to seek the vital extra funding from harmonious and mutually beneficial commercial partnerships that the industry so badly needs.”
Michelle Wright, CEO of Cause4, added: “The Certificate is providing a brilliant vehicle for supporting those working in the arts and cultural sectors. In an uncertain economic environment it is more important than ever that in approaching businesses, arts practitioners are equipped with the confidence to speak the language of the private sector, and to understand the commercial operating environment. The Certificate gives students the tools to do this.”
The 2017 ESA Arts Sponsorship Certificate is now open for enrolment, and more information can be found here.
The Certificate is facilitated via a web-based distance learning platform, containing a range of learning materials and assessment-based tasks. The learning process is supported by three monthly evening seminars where senior industry figures reinforce and discuss subjects covered in the course syllabus. The seminars are filmed and made available via the website for those unable to attend.
