Keynote speakers:
Gordon Tannock, Head of Partner Services, Arsenal FC
Kemiso Motaung, Head of Digital, Kaiser Chiefs, Johannesburg, South Africa
Like it or not, the leading commercial juggernaut in sports’ sponsorship is football. By any metric, it holds a massive lead compared with the commercial activity of any other sport. One of the more noticeable trends in football’s ecosystem is its increasing ability to transact deals across boundaries. It’s now common for the big clubs to strike commercial global partnerships that go far beyond just one territory, and its power and influence is now taking it much further afield. Step up Africa, possibly football’s newest frontier.
In Seminar Five of this year’s ESA Diploma course we warmly welcome our special guests, Gordon Tannock and Kemiso Motaung who will shed a light on different aspects of footballs’ growth in the world’s second most populated continent.
Gordon will outline Arsenal’s now-iconic partnership with what initially seemed like an unlikely partner, Visit Rwanda, and explain how the deal came about and review its unqualified success.
Kemiso will give us an overview of the commercial roster of one of the most fanatically supported teams in world football, which will help us to understand the potential for football in Africa.
Please join us to explore why football now has no boundaries.
