The European Sponsorship Association, the membership body that aims to inspire, unite and grow the sponsorship industry, has launched the 2021 ESA Diploma.
Enrolment is now open for the ESA Diploma, which has established a reputation as the essential qualification for any current sponsorship marketers or those seeking a career in sponsorship.
With a focus on practical skills, the ESA Diploma has constantly evolved to equip students with expertise in all areas of modern sponsorship marketing, including strategy, activation, research, evaluation techniques and much more.
Since its inception in 2012, more than 400 sponsorship professionals from over twenty countries have graduated from the ESA Diploma, with students coming from all parts of the industry, including sponsors, rights holders and agencies.
The Diploma enjoyed a record year in 2020, with more than 100 students taking part. For the first time ever, ESA also launched a successful mid-year intake to cater for increased demand during lockdown.
Made up of six modules with complementary seminars from January to August, the part-time course is designed to be flexible, enabling those working full-time to study when convenient and fit in with existing commitments.
Another feature of the course is regular guest lectures and seminar presentations from leading voices in the sponsorship industry – contributors to the 2020 course included Activative, Barclays, the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Engine Sports, Expedia Group, The FA, Octagon, Something More Near, Team GB, The Value Exchange, Vensy and Wavemaker.
ESA Diploma Course Director, Peter Raymond, said:
“We launch our 2021 course with a great deal of pride. It will follow our record-breaking intake this year, in which we’ve had to adapt to the challenging circumstances that have been thrust upon us. Fortunately a number of the changes we have had to make to the course have only added to its potency and its online nature mitigated against the lockdown period being detrimental.
We are taking these insights with us into our planning for 2021 and I have no doubt that the offering will be as compelling as ever and will once again provide an unrivalled learning experience.”
ESA Chairman, Andy Westlake, said:
“The ESA Diploma has gone from strength to strength in recent years to be seen by recruiters and companies across Europe as an essential qualification, and it’s a key pillar in the ESA mission. I’m looking forward to seeing the course’s momentum continue to grow after welcoming our largest-ever ESA Diploma class in 2020.
With the challenging environment facing the sponsorship industry, it has never been more important to develop skills and hone our trade to best practice standards – and there’s no better way to do this than by taking part in the ESA Diploma.”
